Welcome! This year I am teaching Spanish III, IV, and V as well as the Americas class (Intro to History, Canada, U.S., and Latin America).
I grew up on Mercer Island, and graduated from the high school in 1984. I graduated from the University of Washington in 1988 (B.A.Political Science) and from the University of Virginia in 1990 (M.A. Foreign Affairs--Latin America). I served with the Peace Corps in Ecuador 1994-96, I started teaching a few months after my return from South America, at Charles Wright Academy in Tacoma, 1997-2000. I received my public teaching certification from Western Washington University in 2002. Here at Ingraham, in addition to my classes, I am also co-advisor for the Gay-Straight Alliance. This year I co-led with science teacher Ingrid Dinter our fourth Ingraham expedition to Costa Rica. I want my students to expand their vision to see what is happening around them and in their world, have a strong sense of compassion, a desire for adventure and exploration, and a commitment to our environment and wilderness. 206 252-3971, pjfontaine@seattleschool.org | |
